Beach Rocchette

For years Castiglione della Pescaia has been among the top positions in the list of the 'most beautiful seas in Italy', drawn up by Legambiente in collaboration with the Italian Touring Club. You can view the latest results at this link: .

In 2020 Castiglione della Pescaia also received the Green Flag, which certified it as one of the beaches promoted by paediatricians thanks to the clear and shallow water near the shore, its clean sands, the wide open spaces where children can play freely, and the experienced lifeguards.

Also in 2020 Castiglione della Pescaia received the Blue Flag, too, 'confirming the excellence of its coastline'.

Heading north of Castiglione della Pescaia, 6 km from the end of the town take a left into Rocchette street. Baia Azzurra lies 2 km from the beginning of the street and 100 m from the Rocchette beach: a sheltered bay surrounded by pine trees and by the cliff where the Forte delle Rocchette still stands, once a watchtower, now a private residence.

The kilometres of beach up to Castiglione della Pescaia on one side and the majestic cliff on the other provide the backdrop to a crystal-clear sea, ideal for children because it slopes gently, as well as for sports such as SUP, snorkelling, diving, and swimming.

By renting a pedal boat you can reach a cove just behind the first cliff: after a few metres you are immersed in a unique landscape, where you can swim surrounded by the fish that call this place their home, and discover the undersea world, far from the best known and busiest beaches... but just around the corner!

The sea in Castiglione della Pescaia is uncontaminated, and even more so in front of the Rocchette beach, as it is far from any ports and rivers.
