E-bike

The best seasons to discover Maremma by bike are spring and autumn when the days are warm and sunny enough and cycling in nature is pleasant. In summer, however, we will take advantage of the long sunny days to organize tours in the morning or in the afternoon, avoiding the hot central hours.

We will ride with you on our bikes along paths in the green of the Mediterranean scrub of Maremma or by the sea. It is a way to discover our wonderful territory from a new perspective, enjoying unique views, colours and flavours of the surrounding nature. The Tuscan Maremma offers routes suitable for all levels of difficulty, from amateur cyclists to the more experienced ones.

You can rent the most suitable e-bike for you at our bike corner and choose from the numerous tour proposals with the guide of professional cyclists.

Starting from Castiglione della Pescaia we will ride through the paths of the surrounding countryside, between fields of olive trees and fields of sunflowers in a relaxing and timeless atmosphere... an unforgettable experience to live with friends, as a couple or with the whole family.

We will visit unique landscapes and breath-taking views, from the Diaccia Botrona natural reserve to the Maremma regional park, from the ruins of the Hermitage of San Guglielmo to medieval towns reaching also Cala Violina, a beach of wild beauty and crystal clear sea where you can relax and, why not, also take a swim before riding back on your bike.

Some of the routes will take us through the vineyards of the Maremma and we will take the opportunity to stop off in one of the suggestive wineries in the surroundings; the short tour will take us to the nearest winery "Le Mortelle", instead with the full day tour, for those who like to ride longer, we will reach the winery Rocca di Montemassi or Rocca di Frassinello. Is there anything better than a good tasting of typical products and a glass of wine, perhaps at sunset?

And if you already have your own bike or prefer to ride by self-guide, that's no problem! We are ready to give you maps, gps tracks of the trails and advice about the routes in the area and choose together the tour that's right for you!

Each tour will give you the opportunity to truly experience this beautiful area full of sport, fun and nature!

The trek starts from loc. Puntone di Scarlino near Cala Felice Beach Club car park. Along a wide path, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub, you climb gently until you reach first Poggio La Guardia (215 mslm) and shortly after Poggio Sentinella (216 mslm), with wide panoramic views of the coast and of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago. From here the path begins to descend to Torre Civette (55 meters above sea level) near the mouth of the river Alma and then enters the old via dei cavalleggeri which ran along the entire coast from north to south of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany which will take us to Cala Civetta , Cala Violina and Cala Martina, and then finish the excursion. Approximately 13 - altitude 300 meters - medium difficulty.

The Etruscans of Vetulonia: the city, the necropolis, the port, the museum.

The trek starts from the town square in front of the archaeological museum. Vetulonia is one of the 12 most important city-states of Etruria, which formed the so-called Dodecapolis, a powerful alliance of an economic, military and religious nature. Vetulonia saw its maximum splendour and wealth around the IIV century. B.C., it is thought that 25,000 people lived there and its well-being was based on the mining basins of the territory. We can still see the remains of the Etruscan-Roman houses, the remains of the walls and sections of the paving of the roads of the Costa dei Lippi and Costa Murata archaeological areas. Of considerable importance is the necropolis with its extensive system of well, chamber, pit, cumulus and circular tombs, such as the tomb of the Golden Fibula, the Diavolino 2 tomb, the Pietrera tomb and the Belvedere tomb. At the end of the trek, a visit to the Isidoro Falchi Civic Archaeological Museum cannot be missed. Route length km. About 12 - altitude 300 meters - medium difficulty.
